NY Station Fined For Excess Power (WYLF AM)

The FCC to issued an $11,000 monetary forfeiture to WYLF AM of Penn Yan, New York. This, for operating with power in excess of the station's authorization during daytime, post sunset and nighttime hours. The proposed fine also covers the station's failing to surround the tower base with an effective locked fence or other enclosure. If the name Penn Yan sounds familiar, that's because ithe Western New York town was the site of a highly publicized abortive B-P-L tryout last year. (FCC)
